After our Rottie got bone cancer and we could not afford all the treatments we vowed that money would never be a deciding factor in our pets treatment. When we brought our 2 new Rottie puppies home the first thing we did was purchase pet insurance. They are seven years old now and one dog has had numerous ortho problems and has had SHO and TPLO surgeries. The insurance has paid for itself and then some. With a total of over $10,000 invested in her we never could have done this on our own. Sure, VPI is not always perfect and there have been an issue or two over the years, but they have changed some policies and have included most genetic/hereditary problems now and cancer coverage. All in all a great investment and would not have a pet without it!
