Our dog has been with us since she was 10 weeks old and has never had health problems. When she turned 11 this year, we started to see her decline. We knew we would be people that always wanted to do everything possible in the event of an illness and VPI has allowed us to that. Our dog had surgery for bladder and spleen cancer, then began having chronic nose bleeds. We had a CT and Rhinoscopy done. Since we have the cancer policy, the surgery was nearly covered since the amount doubles once cancer is diagnosed. The amount paid by VPI for the CT/Rhino was not as much but in light of the overall situation, we are very pleased. My only reason for not rating higher is that I have no idea how VPI compares with other pet insurance companies. I would highly recommend knowing that you may pay for years before it really matters but when the time comes that your pet has serious illnesses, you will be glad money isn't a problem!
