I loved Embrace until......

I actually had to use it. My dog got hit today and suffered a broken leg and I'm not sure what else at this time. In my error I didn't complete a Dr. Health record on my dog. Therefore they won't cover anything not even putting him to sleep until after 6 months, I've been with them for 5 months. His injuries are obviously recent and impact related, nothing pre-existing what so ever. I call it an insurance LOOP HOLE, a way of getting out of paying for their insured. Customer service is decent, the plan affordable and the reviews great. I just can't believe the company in pet care doesn't really care. Very sad my son and I our loosing our four legged family member over a piece of paper.

I want to revise my review to a 7 out of 10. After several conversations and a some fustration with the Embrace reps, a decision was made that I felt was right. My confidence and faith have been restored when trusting Embrace to provide service to my much loved dog. I will recommend Embrace to others who love their dog as much as I love mine. Denise

Denise, this breaks my heart. We do have a 6 month orthopedic waiting period for dogs and we actively encourage you to waive that down to 14 days by having an ortho exam done by your vet. We remind you four times during your quote, purchase, and follow up emails to get the exam done and let you know that even accidents like broken bones are not covered in the 6 months if you do not get the exam done. I wish we could have covered this accident too :(

While your loss is sad, as a new customer of Embrace, I want to point out to others the error in your review.
Embrace does require an orthopedic review for caninies, to waive the 6 month wait on orthopedic issues. I have gotten several notices per dog insured, so to call it a loophole is wrong. I did have my vet perform it, and it takes perhaps 3 minutes per pet. Not fun but not hard or confusing, at all.

I am a prospective customer of Embrace and seeing this review has me thinking about whether or not this insurance company is right for me. Vet care is expensive in and off itself let alone fronting the money for it and waiting for reimbursement for it. I think that large companies lose site of the end user and that their customers are real human beings that pay their salaries, and without them, they have nothing. I do not know the whole story here, but I find it sad that a family had to put their beloved dog down due to a technicality in company policy. Very very sad.
