Always Look up the amounts that VPI covers for certain procedures . Nowehere do they say they will pay for 25/50/80 % , its a fixed fee regardless of what you pay for your pets operation I spent 1600 dollars because my dog ate a bottle cap . My mistake in not checking up the insurance terms and my mistake in taking her to the specialist my vet recommended( i should have checked the rates) I was given back 250 doallrs from VPI who said that thats the cost of an endoscopy to remove any foreign object . VPI don't ( and i don't blame them completely) for looking at what the doctor had to do which caused my bill to be X amount . I have read that VPI's cost ( for which they cover a certain amount) of a procedure is based off research done in the 1970's but again i dont know enough the bad rating is because i dont know what VET other than some guy with a jackknife can conduct an endoscopy or any procedure for the rates that VPI claims
