Maggie is now 13 and has been covered for over 8 years during which time she has had frequent visits to the vet for ear problems, eye problems, teeth, gastritis, and most expensive, spinal surgery four years ago. All claims were handled quickly and professionally. I've also covered an older dog adopted as a rescue -- Buttons had cancer and prior to his death other problems. VPI was always understanding and I appreciated when they sent a note when he died and cancelled the insurance without my having to request it. His replacement (also an older dog) is covered except for some pre-existing conditions and I feel better knowing that if something happened, his care would be covered. I live in Manhattan so the coverage amounts are not as good as probably in other parts of the US, but at least it is something.
