Every pet owner should have pet insurance. I know there have been many horror stories about various companies - but I highly recommend Petplan. The annual cost is very affordable, and when needed - it is a lifesver.
When my sweet boy kitty Fritz became ill and we took him to VCA (hospital) the estimate just to run all needed diagnostic tests was more than $4000.
