I had osteosarcoma on my Leonberger and had lots of complications from amputation and chemo requiring multiple surgeries. Bills added up to over $16,000 and I ended up getting about $3,000 back. They met their end of the written agreement, which I just didn't check carefully. We bought VPI from the sales pitch thinking we would be able to choose a course of care without worrying about cost. For something like cancer, that is just not the case. We had paid many thousands of dollars to VPI over the years prior to this and should have saved our money in a "health savings account". That would have been a much better deal and is what we now do.
