I paid my premium and got NOTHING

Out of 10

I got my Pet Plan Insurance and about a month or so later I noticed my dog limping. I took him to my vet and found he had hip problems. I turned in a claim and it was rejeced. My vet wrote a letter to them and they said it was pre-excisting

The dog's age should not matter if PetPlan reviewed the vet records from the owner's application then did not preclude any conditions in the policy coverage. It is possible the dog had a previously undiagnosed injury or chronic condition but I don't understand why it would not be covered regardless.

I would love to hear the particulars of this decision from a Petplan rep. Thank you.

I am really sorry that I purchased Petplan. My German Shepherd mix was hospitalized due to "possible ingestion of foreign substance." She had diarhea when we brought her home, probably because we acquired her from a dog pound in which the conditions were probably less than sanitary. Now if there is any gastrointestinal issue (including eating the inedible) they won't pay. We paid over $1000 out of pocket after shelling out money for this crummy insurance. Just like human providers: anything to get out of paying for a claim!

I wonder...how old is your dog? You selected the range of 1-8, but if you got insurance for the first time with PetPlan at age 7 or 8, there's a long time in there where a hip injury could occur that was caused from a prior incident.
However, if your pet is only two years old, I find it hard to believe that they would deny the claim since they just paid one for my two year old.
