I'm disappointed with VPI. I called late last year to upgrade my pet to a premium plan after numerous mail leaflets were sent to my home. I was given a quote and told that the new rate and plan will apply upon renewal. My credit card was charged the usual rate come renewal time. I emailed to ask why and I got a reply that because my dog had a pre-existing condition, they cannot upgrade him. This "pre-existing" condition happened after I've enrolled my pet in the insurance (supreme plan). Now, I'm torn. I don't want to keep paying insurance for a company that I feel betrayed but I cannot move him to another insurance company because that will be truly "pre-existing".
