I have had a less than good experience, although I was able to provide proof of a non pre existing condition claim, I later found that the 100.00 deductable, was to be charged on a condition by condition basis, not a one time deductable. This only serves to reinforce my dis trust of insurance companies. n addition the actual office call is never covered only some services. If their is a detail you miss, you are stuck. These claims by the way were only a few hundred dollars. So of my enrollment and monthly payments for six months, I received far less money than I ever paid, in It would have been better to bank it each month

Healthy Paws is the only company other than PurinaCare with an ANNUAL deductible, and it's less than half the cost of Purina! Or, you could buy the ZERO deductible from Trupanion.

Did you read their policy before you enrolled?
The Exclusions & Limitations section of the policy states that Exam Fees are not covered.

The Definitions section of the policy addresses how the Deductible is to be applied per each condition as is the case with most of the Pet Insuranc programs that I researched.

I believe that PurinaCare may be one of the only companies that has an annual deductible vs. per condition deductible so you may want to check them out to see if their plan is more to your liking, although I think you'll end up spending considerably more $ on the monthly premium.

We encourage policyholders to read policy documentation and call and ask questions if necessary. Our deductible is a one-time deductible per incident (condition.) This means that once a deductible has been met for a specific condition, you would not pay it again on that condition. So if your pet develops a chronic illness such as allergies, diabetes, kidney issues, hypothyroidism – once you’ve met the deductible for that condition you never pay it again on claims for it. This means even if you are making claims monthly or every other month for a chronic condition for several years – you never pay the deductible on that condition twice!You also have the option of selecting a deductible as low as $0 (which you may call in and change at any time) at which point you would only be responsible for the veterinary exam fee and your 10% copay of any claim.
Secondly, it is written in the policy that exam fees are not covered. By not paying exam fees, we are able to pay out 90% on the testing/meds/surgery, which are the more expensive parts of the bill, and keep premiums as low as possible. If we covered exam fees, that would affect the cost of premiums that people pay per month.

It annoys me when someone doesn't read they policy and them blames the company. Seriously, everything you said you were not happy about is clearly written out in Trupanion Policy. Next time read your paperwork.

D'oh! Roger...Dude!
You signed a contract that spelled out what was and wasn't covered and what costs would apply for each incident. You made decisions on the amount of deductible without understanding what you were doing and then you made assumptions about how the policy would work without reading the terms & conditions. Bad move, dude! Look in the mirror to see the guy who's responsible.

You don't like the deductibe that YOU selected for your policy? LOL, how is that their fault?
So a good company to you would be one that ignores the selections you made, and what they charge you, and simply reimberses you out of the goodness of their heart? Get real.
