I do not suggest you buy VPI insurance. I have the VPI deluxe plan. I was told they cover 90% of a bill minus a co-payment etc. I bought insurance for the express purpose of coverage for major illness/accidents. I didn't expect everything to always be covered 90% but I was shocked at how extremely little was covered! My kitty had a severe, yet VERY COMMON problem of urinary blockage from crystals, an infection and had to be in the vets for 2 nights. It cost almost $1,000. I sent in the paper work with the vets notes. They originally sent me back $130.00 and it was completely mis-categorized as an abrasion (cut). I called to ask about this. They added $120.00 for a total of $250.00 of $1,000 paid. My vets office called VPI and they were told my plan only covers that percentage, making my vet understand that if only I had a better plan. So on top of everything they mis-communicated obviously to my vets office. VPI covered essentially what I pay in premiums last year. I truly do not suggest VPI.
