low reimbursements, inappropriate diagnosis codes

I think it is important to have pet insurance. I do feel that the fees reimbursed are very low and should be adjusted. I do not know of any vet that charges the fees that VPI states as an average charge which they base this on for their reimbursements. In addition, when payment is made, they do not explain or list what services were used for what diagnosis code(reimbursement). Many times they bulk services under one diagnosis instead of using the multiple diagnosis codes which is more appropriate. I have also found that they do not follow the Veterinaries listed primary diagnosis instead they decide what diagnosis is primary. This is not right to do since they were not the primary care giver and never saw my pet.
