I have no complaints about VPI. I remember years ago when there was no such thing as "pet" insurance. I am a dog groomer and I see so many medical issues that I would never have imagined years ago. I have a Golden Retriever which is prone to miscellaneous conditions. Of course, dysplasia is one of the chronic conditions. She is 5 years old and has no symptoms other than it showed on an x-ray when she was very young that she could have potential problems. I believe that if dysplasia is common in Golden Retrievers it should be important to have some type of coverage just in case of incident, but, there is not. Beside from that, I recently had my dog's teeth cleaned by a vet - she particularly needs it done once per year, and, she also had 3 suspicious areas on her skin that were biopsied and tested. And, on top of that she chewed the stitches and staples out before I could get an e-collar on her. VPI also paid a portion of this claim. Out of approximately $700.00 between the two claims - $600.00 was reimbursed to me in two checks. I was thrilled to get this reimbursement. In that amount I was paid $100.00 toward having her teeth cleaned. In some cases - my pet insurance is better than some human health insurance and I am grateful!
