I have 2 dogs. The older dog has VPI and I just purchased Purina care for our new puppy on the advice of our breeder. I'm so glad!! The puppy ate a portion of a nylon leash. Surgery to remove the object was over $3,200. I also had well care coverage. The well care visits were almost $250, which is my deductible. Purina paid 80% after my deductible. No questions asked! The only thing they didn't cover was the $18 dollar e- collar she wore so she wouldn't bother the stitches. The deductible applies to the Well Care and is stated clearly on the website. This policy covers just about everything--even genetic defects. It is More costly than the other policies but boy was it worth it. Get the Well Care coverage for the first year so that spy/neuter is covered---then after the first year just get the regular coverage. VPI is not as comprehensive of a policy. Last year we lost our senior dog and she had over $6,000 in surgeries over 3 years--wish I had this policy then. Great policy!!
