Dispicable practices

I had to get a new credit card and after ONE MONTH they cancelled my policy for non-payment. I had an email address on file I don't use frequently. Other than that they made no reasonable means to get in touch with me about it. No phone call or mailings. It was all pretty secretive. I found out that I was dropped after filing a claim for $1400. Thanks Healthy Paws. You guys are the scum of the earth.

Tim,

We’re sorry that your baby isn’t feeling well. A Healthy Paws policy is continuous until either canceled by the policyholder or if there is non-payment of premiums. We understand that there are times a policyholder's credit card used on the policy could be lost, compromised by fraud or that there may be a change in bank accounts, expiration date, etc. In a case where a credit card transaction for premium payment is declined, we send two emails to the policyholder informing them of the issue using the email address on their account, we re-try the credit card on file two more times and then mail a notice via the postal service of cancellation prior to the cancellation effective date. Starting at the end of August, we used this process, sending the emails to the address you used on your account up until you changed that email address late last week. We're sorry to lose you as a policyholder and hope your pet feels better.
