Our Scottie is just over 10 years old - she's been our companion since she was a puppy, and she has always been insured by VPI, which helps us meet the costs of her regular care (vaccinations, heartworm pills, flea prevention, dental cleaning). The past two years have been difficult though. She was diagnosed with cancer of the bladder and had to have surgery. The cancer came back this year and she had to have surgery again. It was a very stressful time, but knowing that she was covered by VPI took some of the pressure off us financially. Both claims were processed very quickly and we received a very fair reimbursement in good time. The good news is that she has made a quick recovery (thanks to excellent veterinary care), and so have our finances - thanks to VPI. And particularly in this economic climate that means a lot! I always recommend to others that they seriously consider a VPI policy for their pets.
