I have had the VPI Standard Plan with cancer coverage for both of my current cats. One is 8, the other 4. I also had it for another cat before these two as her brother died of cancer and not having/knowing about pet insurance paying those bills was not pleasant. She had acute kidney failure and lived 3 additional years. The pet insurance has worked out well for us, even though I would do what I had to do for our pets regardless if I had it or not. Our 8 year cat was just diagnosed with lymphoma and had surgery and so far 2 weeks of chemotherapy. I am extremely pleased with the reimbursements as I've always been. I don't have the insurance for annual exams as for me it seems like a "wash".
