Our Italian Greyhound, Zel was 14 months old when we purchased her. She was very healthy and had no history of health problems and neither did her parents or grandparents. However, Zel was an expensive dog and there was always the possibility she could develop health issues or have an accident. We saw an ad for VPI and compared VPI with other pet insurance plans. We decided the premium costs and reputation of VPI suited our needs best – even though the cost is still more than our own health insurance plan. In addition, preventative health care such as heartworm, flea and tick, and dental were reimbursable through VPI– so we enrolled her in VPI. We have also been reimbursed up to 100% on many of her preventative health treatments Filing claims forms is easy because we can fax them and VPI is quick to acknowledge receipt of them. Reimbursement is usually within 2 weeks. So we would definitely recommend VPI to other pet owners. We would agree however, with some of the other comments that (VPI) customer scale by which they gauge our reimbursement for Veterinary Services could be improved and more up-to-date with current c
