I'd heard the horror stories of people having to make a hard decision when they weren't able to afford unexpected vet bills/illnesses. So when it came to adopting my first pet, I knew that getting pet insurance was a non-negotiable.
After scouring the different plans available, I decided to get Pumpkin for two main reasons:
The first is their preventative plan. For less than $10/month I get Mysa's flea and tick medication mailed to my house and a vaccination reimbursed every year. Side note: the medication alone pays for itself and I don't have to worry about getting the prescription from my vet since their team takes care of it.
The second is their site. It was super easy to get a quote and sign Mysa up. I haven't had to make a claim yet (fingers crossed I don't have to) but that process seemed straightforward as well.
One downside is that they're not available nationwide so you'll have to check to see if they're in your area before signing up.
