Thank you to VPI

I have been with VPI for almost 9 years now and feel as though I should write about my experience. Some people think that spending $35 a month on the chance your pet gets ill is a waste and my family thought I was crazy. I have 2 boxers, Barkley and Beau. Barkley is 9 has been with me since he was 8 weeks old and Beau is 8 and he rescued me 5 1/2 years ago. My experience with VPI has been outstanding. Since boxers are a cancer prone breed, I have the double cancer rider which doubles their cancer benefits. For this I am truly thankful as both dogs have had mast cell cancer, Barkley 2 years ago and Beau, 2 months ago. Both are doing fantastic and VPI was there with me. I did drop my routine care coverage because as many have said, I did not see the value at all. My vet is on the expensive side and I just did not see how this was a benefit. For cancer though, they are outstanding. I would estimate my cancer coverage has paid out at least 90% of the bill. For other illnesses like pancreatitis, it paid about 50%. Still better than nothing though I would say they need to take a look at the benefit schedule on these non cancer illnesses and revise them. All in all I am pleased and owe them a great deal of thanks. Claims are always paid within 30 days and service is always great. Hope this helps. :)
