I recently submitted a claim in the amount of $4,291.89 for a family pet that became drastically ill and passed away all in the same week. It was devastating to our family and friends as he was part of our new begginning in our new home etc. The reason we keep insurance is so that we can provide the best care for our pets knowing that we are backed up by a large insurance company. When I received a check in the amount of $1,118.87 it just added insult to injury and threw salt into our already gaping wound. We are not wealthy people and thought with insurance we could do everything we could to save our family members life. We have two other dogs that were going to be enrolled in the insurance program yesterday, however upon receipt of the check I dont think we will be using VPI's services again. We are extremely displeased with the care for our dog. I have several family memebers and friends that have enrolled with VPI due to our referrals and all of them are ready to leave to another company. I have tried to contact a customer care representative about this travesty but they were worthless I might as well have been speaking with a DMV employee.
