I have two dogs, a six year old Boston Terrier and a one year old bulldog mix. I got a VPI policy for the Boston when he was about six months old to help with his first round of puppy shots and check ups and to see what pet insurance was all about. When he was just under a year old, he developed epilepsy. All the tests to help find the right diagnosis and then the right dosage of medicine added up to a rather large vet bill, half of which was reimbursed by VPI. The poor little guy also had a string of eye injuries that were also covered. The claims process is quick and easy. My bulldog mix has none of the health issues I've had with my BT, but I'm keeping her covered just in case. I've been grateful to have VPI on enough occasions that I'm wary of letting their coverage lapse.
