My cat Dahlia is covered under VPI superior. She's been on the plan several years and it's helped cover her for FIV and other treatment. She was enrolled before her FIV was discovered. I strongly encourage all pet oners to get a policy immediately on purchase or adoption of a pet and before the first visit to the vet to avoid having conditions excluded as pre-existing. Having my cat Dahlia insured is important to me and helps cover the cost of her care. When purchased, I believe this was the best policy available. I'll continue Dahlia in this policy for the rest of her life since VPI says they will continue to renew her policy and cover her FIV and other conditions. However, there are better polices now including some that don't use coverage charts, pay out at a higher percentage and have less or no deductible. VPI even has other options now. I'll carefully research the options with my next pet and am not sure if I'll choose VPI again.
