We have had VPI insurance for nearly nine years. We covered both of our Bernese Mountain Dogs with the superior plan with the cancer endorsement. Unfortunately both dogs developed cancer. In the past 8 months we have had nearly $18,000 of veterinary bills. VPI insurance has been a godsend. theclaims process is simple and our claims were paid promptly. Last July, when they could have cancelled us at policy renewal time, knowing both dogs had cancer, they stood by us and renewed the policies. When the first dog died a few months after renewal, the unused premium was promptly refunded, without our asking. In that two month period, they had paid around $2000 in claims for the $360 prmium. They even sent their regrets along with the last check. In addition to the cancer treatment, they have covered elbow surgery, eye injuries and root canals, to name just the big expenses. When I read the negative comments about them, I am aghast. Our experience has been totally positive, I would (and have) reccommend them without hesitation. They are still covering our remaining Berner 10 months into his courageous fight against osteosarcoma. When the time comes to get our next dog, there is no doubt in my mind that we will buy another VPI policy.
