I have always been skeptical about getting pet insurance. Most times I have not needed more than routine pet care. However, last year I decided to invest in pet insurance because I did not want cost to get in the way of medical treatments for my dogs. Luckily, I did not need it at all the first year. However, this year my youngest dog, Beacon, went into Acute Renal Failure. This was my first claim and it was a huge one (approximately $6,000). From my calculations, I was to pay the first $200 and PetPlan was to pay the remainder. PetPlan lived up to what it stated. I got back approximately $5,800. PetPlan is completely honest about what they will and will not cover. They invoice on what the vet submits, not what they think the vet should have submitted. I am very glad that I made the decision to get insurance with them.
