1st time enroll with PurinaCare

Out of 10

this is the 1st time I enroll with PurinaCare, can't comment too much, I switched my pet from PetCare Insurance to PurinaCare as I have real bad experience with PetCare Insurance. I hope I did not make the wrong decision as I did with PetCare last time. I'm sure I will be happy with PurinaCare, they said they will review Tiger's 2 pre existing illnesses (urinary tract infection & fever which falls in the category of Infectious Disease) if Tiger have a clean record after 6 months

Being a long time user of VPI Pet Insurance, I can tell you that most of these companies do not cover "pre-existing' illness unless it has been "cured" and has not been a problem for over six months. Most if not all of the pet insurance companies refuse to cover hip and/or elbow dysplasia, no matter when it is discovered. My Golden Retriever fell off the dog walk in utility class and was limping, so I took him to the vet. Because the vet said the x-rays showed hip dysplasia and arthritis, the insurance company would not cover any of the expenses, despite the fact that the reason for treatment was due to the fall. No matter what insurance policy you purchase, make sure you read and understand the fine print. Most companies have a "per incident" deductible...in other words, if your pet has a cold and you take him/her t o the vet, you will pay a deductible. If you take the pet back a week or two later for the same condition, you will not be charged another deductible. However, if your pet is taken to the vet's a week or two later for a completely different condition, say, a limp, then you will have pay another deductible. They have you by the short hairs for sure, but there are times when coverage definitely comes in handy. My dog developed pancreatitis, which cost nearly $1800. The insurance company paid out over $900, which definitely helped.

I assumed i would find all comments related to pet insurance/personal experience. I did not expect to read personal attacks.

Not sure why this rating was included. Says she has no experience with Purinacare, which is fine, but what warrants the low 6/10 rating, which serves to bring down the overall rating from about 9.2 to 9.05.
