We got our VPI coverage less than a year ago when we adopted our new 8 month old GSD puppy. Two months later when we suspected she may have swallowed something the vet told us her belly "felt" normal, but if we wanted to be certain, we could have her X-rayed. Well, I definitely wanted to be certain and I didn't hesitate to have her X-rayed. We got an all clear then and there and VPI payed almost all of this very valuable peace of mind. I was very happy to have VPI sharing the expense of provoding my baby the best care I could give her. VPI has always paid what their policy says they will pay. The one time we didn't agree, I called and got prompt and courteous help and they decided I was right and paid the amount in question. We have already received this year's premiums in benefits and Duchess has not really been sick, but just had a normal number of puppy bumps and bruises. I also think the Care Guard Premium Coverage is terrific. If you give your dog it's normal heart worm meds, flea and tick, and vaccinations, and get 2 "wellness" visits a year the coverage has to pay for itself. Show me a better deal anywhere for anything. There may be higher benefits paid for higher premiums as one reviewer suggested, but I didn't expect to raise a dog for free. We pay a reasonable premium and get the comfort of knowing that whatever happens VPI is going to pay some part of the cost. Who can predict which incident is going to happen?
