We have had VPI insurance on our basset hounds since 2001 and have been very satisfied with claims handling, promptness of reimbursement and coverage provided. If you aren't insurance prone, then you'll undoubtedly not understand why you don't get full reimbursement for a spay or neuter. The policy specifically states what the company will pay for - it does not presume that the $65 or whatever is going to be enough for the whole procedure. We primarily have the insurance to help us through the major expenses, and it has done that.
