Basically they come to the finding that everything is a pre-existing condition. Case in point: my cat Lola was wheezing and I mentioned this at her regular check up. A few weeks later after filing the claims I got a letter from VPI saying her wheezing was a pre-existing condition because it had probably been going on since before her policy was in effect. With that policy they could state ANY condition as pre-existing, thus not have to cover anything. They did the same for all of my other cats conditions none of which were diagnosed until AFTER the policy went into effect. I ended up spending $200 more that I would have without the insurance! Buyer beware!!
