2 weeks short of 1 year coverage-injury

Out of 10

We bought VPI insurance for our lab and thought we had good insurance. After paying for 11 months , she tore her ACL in both legs and needed surgery, because she couldn't walk. Our policy was to renew in 2 weeks. She had the surgery and we submitted a claim. The company would not pay the claim because she needed to be insured for a year before the would cover this. Read the fine print. We ended up paying out of pocket and we are insured with another company, but we were very disappointed. Our dog is only 3 so we had to do it. Also, be careful...ANY preexcisting conditions are not covered through all insurance companies.
