My 1.5 year old bullmastiff has required 4 surgeries since I got him. The latest one was when he bumped the shovel that was standing up against the house and it cut his digital flexor tendon of his back leg. The original attempt to fix it was unsuccessful and I was referred to a specialist surgeon. It was either attempt to fix it surgically again or fit him with an orthotic that he would have to wear for the rest of his life. I chose to try surgery again. In total, the whole process has been very stressful but knowing that I wouldn't base his quality of care on the amount of money I could afford was a relief. The claims process has been easy.
