VPI makes mistakes

Out of 10

I have VPI for my dog. For over 5 oyears now.(2004) Their list of not covered and covered is not complete. My dog had surgery last dec. 2009, they only paid $20.00 on close to $3.000.00. Stating the surgery was not on their list of approved etc... but the number of those list is incomplete and this is very deceptive. After further review they send an other $38.00, this after I send a letter to my vet, and I complained about this kind of problems. etc... my Vet now tells his customer to choose an other insurance. You see VPI is different rates in different states... I do not like their practice of refusing to send me a complete list of what they really insure and what is not insured. Also they re-imbursed a certain portion for medicine. example: my dog has dry eyes and need drops... this is expensive for #1 oz#$45.00.. they will only pay a very small portion of it (once) and take deductible of 50 $. then, you do not get anything back.. this happen 2 or 3 times a year.. so you do not get anything back..(unless you send this the same time you have an exam...then tey will allow few dollars. etc.. very frustrating. I just send a bill for review for my dog for her last exam in may, shots etc, Cannot wait to be upset again!
