We thought we were being responsible pet owners by paying $100/month to Pets Plus Us for our illness/accident policy. When our 8 month old puppy became ill, our vet bills came to almost $8000. No problem, we thought: 80% will be covered minus $100 deductible. Well, Pets Plus Us covered 0% of our bills. They found a way to exclude the claim by misconstruing the information provided by us and our vets. They didn't complete the pre-approval they said they would do so we were stuck after the fact. Their customer service is also terrible: you wait on the phone forever to speak to someone and calls and emails are often not returned.
