The free insurance you get when you register a pup is WORTHLESS. Our pup has a heart problem (didn't know till went to vet) a couple days after purchase. We signed up for the free month pet insurance, and was going to buy a policy until they denied a wellness visit and testing at Purdue for a heart problem. They paid absolutely 0. I will save the premiums and pay as i go as i always have without having some loophole you didn't have the right policy or we don't cover that......

Hi Cheryl,
Firstly, I’m sorry that you’re that pup is experiencing these issues at such a young age and I’m sorry that we have not been able to help you with this particular issue. The 30-Day Pet Insurance Certificate is a benefit of AKC registration and is a small, sample policy to help new puppy owners with minor accidents or illnesses that can arise when you first bring your pup home. The Terms and Conditions that we send new policyholders after activating their coverage, explain what is, and is not, covered under their policy. Wellness care and conditions considered inherited or congenital are listed as exclusions from the policy. We try to make the Terms and Conditions as clear as possible to avoid future confusion. Again, I apologize that we were not able to help you. We truly wish we could have done more. If you have any questions or need more clarification, we would be more than happy to speak with. I hope your pup is doing better.
