I chose Pet Plan before my dog became ill with Addison's Disease. Usually Pet Plan is very responsive and easy to use; however, over the past 4 months, claim payments have delayed considerably. In November 2017 PetPlan issued an email stating it will take 10-15 business days to pay a claim. Yesterday I called Pet Plan and now I'm told it's taking a month or more. I don't know what is happening with PetPlan's accounting department, it wasn't this difficult last year to receive payment for the same health issue. Also, I paid my premium before the cancellation date and Pet Plan cancelled the policy anyway. They issued $50 deposit without any letter of explanation. I called Pet Plan and was told my policy was cancelled. I informed the customer service representative I paid the premium before the cancellation date and they reinstated the policy. I do not know what is wrong with Pet Plan's accounting department. I was told people are on vacation and they receive more claims in December causing a delay in payment of claims. Pet Plan in the past was: responsive to claims, kept their word, accurate accounting, etc. I have no choice but to remain with Pet Plan because now my dog has a pre-existing condition and no other pet insurance company will take care of her Addison's Disease. I've given PetPlan positive online reviews in the past. Again, I like Pet Plan but I am extremely disappointed with their service for the past 4 months.
