My energetic and sweet 1 year old standard poodle stopped eating and drinking becoming completely lethargic. I bought a PetPlan policy in December of 2016 and totally forgot I purchased it. The premium is low and paid quarterly. I thought the policy had lapsed 2.5 months later. I'm so glad it didn't and I paid again for the 2nd quarter. After all the tests on my poodle and IV hydration at the vet hospital, she was diagnosed with Addison's disease. I was facing well over $1,000 vet bill, not to mention the ongoing medical care for the rest of my dog's life. After I submitted all my vet records I learned today, about 2 weeks later, that PetPlan mailed a check yesterday, minus the $500 deductible. Having the forethought to buy the PetPlan insurance policy was a life saver. It's a shame that human insurance isn't this easy to navigate. The staff is easy to talk to and takes the time, at the worst moment you're experiencing, to explain the policy and answer all questions. PetPlan is everything it advertised. My poodle is living proof.
