Our dog, Jake, has been through a lot. Soon after we adopted him, we found out he needed back surgery. We were caught completely off guard and were not in a place where we could have financially handled the cost, but PetPlan covered his $7000+ surgery. Two years later he needed a second back surgery. We were fairly stressed out, remembering what an ordeal his recovery had been after the first surgery, so it was a relief not to have to worry about how to afford the second surgery, having PetPlan there to rescue us once again. A year later, Jake was still in pain, and we finally figured out it was because he had severely infected teeth and gums. When the dentist got in there, he realized that part of his jaw bone was disintegrating because the infection was so bad. This cost us a lot more than we had planned on, but PetPlan was there once again. Shockingly, they didn't drop us! Just a couple months ago, he needed to have his gallbladder removed. The surgery went well but he got a post-op infection and the doctors had trouble stabilizing his blood pressure and glucose levels. We weren't sure if he was going to survive. Luckily, he did make a full recovery, but it required a 10 day stay in the hospital, mostly in the intensive care unit. When we went to pick him up, we told the receptionist that we were there to pay our $10,000 bill. She thought we were joking. Then she brought up our account and looked back up at us with shock. PetPlan was there for us again (this was the fourth major claim, in case you've lost count). We are pretty sure that Jake is 100% healthy now, but it is still a comfort to know that we will never have to make a decision about whether to treat him based on how much it is going to cost. PetPlan has shelled out close to $30,000 for Jake and we can't thank them enough. If you have a pet, you need PetPlan!
