I've had PetPlan for a few years now for my service dog Coco, but only recently have I had to make a claim. The process was really simple, I just brought a claim form to my vet and they fax it in whenever I have to claim anything (he's had a flurry of medical issues the past few months). I got an email saying my claim had been received, then I got another email detailing what the deductible is, what was going to be paid out for each receipt, etc. A week or so later I got a cheque in the mail, so once they receive your claim they seem pretty fast about processing it. I'm glad I have insurance for my little man, it's just too scary thinking about how easily he could get sick or have an accident.
