Disappointed and a Bit Misleading

After my dog did one knee, I did a lot of research on Pet Insurance. Based on Pet Plan website, it appeared that they would cover the other knee after 12 months or waive the 12 months with a vet certification. I wrote the company and that was clearly confirmed in writing with a very specific example. AFTER purchasing the policy, I got a physical ($50) to certify the good knee. When asked where to send the vet report to get the waiver, I got a vague response. When I called, I was told that the information I had gotten in writing from their support person was incorrect and that they would not cover the good knee under any circumstances for 12 months. I've canceled the policy, not because of the 12 month waiting period but because they were misleading before purchase and I don't trust getting 2 or 3 years down the road and finding out that something else is not covered. The rep on the phone was pleasant and they are prompt at responding to emails. Unfortunately, their own people don't even know what's covered so I'm not willing to pay $400/year to get surporsed in the future.
