Terrible when you try and cancel

So I created a policy for one of our cat's. My husband and I used my email address but since we used his card we put it the policy in his name. DO NOT EVER DO THIS if you want to cancel smoothly. I logged onto my account to cancel the policy and received an email stating that I had to be by husband (I stupidly was honest about the thing and identified myself as my name). I was told to either call them or livechat. Okay, I thought, I'll livechat and cancel because since I created the damned account I know all the details and could just pretend to be my husband and cancel. Surprise, no option to livechat available on their website. So I called them and explained the situation. They told me that they couldn't talk to me and only would take to my husband and then they could add me to the policy. The policy we are trying to CANCEL. There is zero point in adding me to that policy. We are lucky enough to have a different insurance that I would not feel right naming here, but it has saved us over 1,500$ in the 5 months we have had it.
