My 2 dogs have been covered by PetPlan for over six years now. In that time I have had dozens of claims for a wide variety of issues--both accident and illness. Each claim has been paid before the credit card bill came.
In the last two months, my Shepard/Heeler tore both ACLs. The surgery on the first one totaled over $6,000 in vet bills, all of which were promptly paid. We have been pre-approved to do the surgery on the other knee once she recovers from this one. Pre-approval was under three days. Both the pre-approval forms and claims forms are easy to fill out and submit.

One of best thing about Pet Plan is the excellent customer service. Calls are answered promptly and the customer service reps are very friendly. If I have a question about my coverage they are happy to answer it in a simple way I can understand. If additional information is needed by underwriting, they will communicate directly with my vet to get what is needed. That's a huge time saver for me.

Coverage is also very easy to understand. On my plan there is 90% coverage with a $200 deductible for standard care and 80% coverage for specialists. Everything is covered. My Dane/Pointer's daily pain meds for old dog hips are covered as fully as the little dog's ACL surgery.

Premiums are determined by the pet's breed, age and weight. That's it. My premiums did not go up after expensive surgeries or chronic conditions. I can't overstate the peace of mind that comes from knowing I will not be punish
