We have been pre-approved to do the surgery on the other knee once she recovers from this one. Pre-approval was under three days. If additional information is needed by underwriting, they will communicate directly with my vet to get what is needed. That's a huge time saver for me.
Coverage is also very easy to understand. On my plan there is 90% coverage with a $200 deductible for standard care and 80% coverage for specialists. Everything is covered. My Dane/Pointer's daily pain meds for old dog hips are covered as fully as the little dog's ACL surgery.
Premiums are determined by the pet's breed, age and weight. That's it. My premiums did not go up after expensive surgeries or chronic conditions. I can't overstate the peace of mind that comes from knowing I will not be punish
