At the age of 4, my 6 pound yorki-poo developed a mast cell tumor on her nose. My vet was not optimistic because of the location of the tumor. I took her to the University of Minnesota Vet College and saw their specialists. After many tests and finding out that the cancer had not spread, they gave me a 90% chance of being able to fix her. Then they told me the cost, $4,000 for the surgery to remove the tumor and to rebuild her nose and cheek and an additional $8,000 for the radiation. Radiation was necessary because they would not be able to get a clean margin for the tumor when they removed it. Thank goodness for my PetPlan Insurance. This was the best thing I ever did. Gracie is just like another member of my family and I would have been heart sick if I would not have been able to have her treated. I've submitted many different bills over the past 3 months relating to this illness. I've had zero problems or issues getting reimbursed for anything. The web site is information friendly and anytime I call customer service I feel like they honestly care about my pets well being. On top of all this, I just received the annual renewal of my plan (I was expecting to get a huge increase because of the recent huge bills) and they only raised my monthly premium by $5.00. This is unheard of!!!! I will never own a pet again without having this Pet Insurance Company. I cannot recommend them enough.
