Huge Disappointment

This is the most disappointing insurance I have ever purchased. It was recommended by one of my clubs, and though I have used VPI and still have VPI on my old dogs. I decided to try this plan with my two puppies. Everything submitted has been denied on pre-exist. Can you tell me how staph can be a pre-existing condition???? My issue is this. After speaking candidly with their sales rep when I bought the policy and then later providing them with all my dogs's medical records, they determined her condition to be pre-existing and would not cover it. Regardless of whether staph is or is not a condition that can be deemed pre-existing, this was never disclosed or mentioned when I bought my plan. That is why I always speak to a person when making a purchase like this so that I CAN get all the information. One thing I found out today in my conversation with their representative is that Petplan automatically charges your credit card for your renewal every year without consulting you. That is also in the "fine print".

I have had awful experience with this company as well and I have only had the policy 2 months. I have waited 5 weeks to get paid for a claim and they keep putting it off, saying "documents are missing", which they are NOT. If I were you I'd get off both PetPlan and VPI. VPI is one of the worst insurances out there. I had it 20 years ago, when it was virtually the only insurance around. Now, the best ones are Pet's Best (which I had for years and was great, but didn't have unlimited coverage like PetPlan does), Trupanion, Healthy Paws and supposedly Pet Plan.....but I haven't seen Pet Plan live up to it's rep.
