5 Months ago I discovered a small bump on out 5 yr old Rhodesian Ridgeback Keegan's leg. After having watched it for a month i decided to take her to the vet to have it tested. Unfortunately, the results came back that she had a tumor. The oncologist gave us several options for treatment which included radiation and chemo. We spent the next several days researching our options and decided to proceed with a new, more homeopathic, and less invasive treatment called Hyperthermia.
We have had a PetPlan policy for Keegan since she was 8 weeks old but have had the good fortune to not need it until now. From the first contact with the people at PetPlan, I was impressed with their professionalism, knowledge and speed with which they handle claims. We submitted $6500 worth of bills for Keegan's treatment. Every bill submitted was handled as they indicated it would be. All claims were processed within 2 weeks and for the accurate amount. Because of PetPlan we were able to focus on finding the appropriate treatment regardless of cost. Without PetPlan we would have had to make some very, very difficult decisions and probably been forced to go in a direction of treatment that was not ideal for Keegan's recovery and longevity. I wish my own insurance company handled their business and their customers the way PetPlan does.
Ultimately, we completed the hyperthermia treatment and Keegan is doing very well. We feel lucky to have PetPlan looking out for our family.
