My pup (who is actually going to be 10 on Feb 10th 2012), recently had an abscess that grew practically overnight and exploded the next day. He was one very unhappy camper, and we of course, were devastated to see him not only in a lot of pain, but quite sick. Being almost 10 years old, we were really worried about him possibly needing surgery. Luckily, he didn't, and the vet was able to fully clean and care for the abscess until it closed on it's own. With multiple very expensive visits, a full course of antibiotics, over the course of two weeks, we racked up a cumulative bill around $1,200 for this one issue. After our deductible, we saw almost $900 of that back. Honestly, I have read horrendous reviews about people having to fight tooth and nail for their money but I honestly do not worry with PetPlan. This is our second claim and though our deductible is quite high ($200 per occurrence), I feel it is absolutely worth it...especially given our dog's age and the fact that we live in New York City's Upper East Side. Vet bills are always atrocious. I would recommend this plan to any pet owner though I would stress to get it when they're a healthy young puppy for the best rates.
