I have had PetPlan for over 2 years now. I have not seen one penny from them. Prior to purchasing insurance for my english bulldog, she had a small staph infection on her back that was treated and cleared up without further problems and has never returned. Months after that cleared, she developed severe skin problems and is now being treated for staph hypersensitivity, medication is about $200 per month. My vet feels confident the first skin infection is not related to her current illness and has called PetPlan for me several times, even getting to speak with the head of claim appeals and he was told that they hoped there was something that could be worked out for me. (Yes, both infections were from staph, but were unrelated and do not present in the same way) Still, I hear nothing back from them. If I wasn't worried that something else would happen to my bulldog, I would have cancelled their service long ago, because I feel like this matter will never be resolved. Meanwhile, I just keep doing what I can to keep my poor bulldog comfortable. Not to mention, my policy just renewed under their new company and my premium has gone up. I was never informed there would be an increase! Thanks for nothing (literally) PetPlan.

Not favorable!!! If the Vet wrote PetPlan the second staph problem was not caused by the first staph problem and the first staph problem was completely resolved, then PETPLAN should reimburse the Insured accordingly, for whatever their policy allows!!!!

I felt the same way about it. My vet felt strongly that the issues were not related. He wrote a letter to them and even called to have my chart re-reviewed through the appeals department. I haven't heard a word back from them regarding it.
