Mya, a poodle 14 months old, got to a soft toy left at the dog park and ate most of it before my husband could get to her. A few days later she started throwing up, etc. Tests and x-rays were negative. After following a conservative vet plan for a couple days, surgery was performed where the stuffing was removed from her intestine, which had a tear in it and 6" of intestine was removed. She would not have been able to pass the material. She was extremely dehydrated and needed hydration for a couple days following surgery.
Since I am retired and on fixed income, I decided this Sept to get PetPlan insurance as reviews were the best and my vet accepted the insurance. PetPlan promptly processed the initial conservative billing and the follow-up surgery/post-op billings for a total of over $3400, minus only my deductible.
I am so relieved to have had the insurance and a number of friends are now interested in getting PetPlan insurance for their dogs.
