Not Worth The Customer Service Problems

PetPlan sounds like the best pet insurance out there. However, there are a myriad of problems that seem to have beset Fetch Insurance, the company that markets PetPlan.
First, PetPlan lost it's underwriter. The company claimed that the underwriter forced PetPlan to cancel perfectly good policies while at the same time PetPlan was unable in the cancellation letter - to inform customers that the company had obtained another carrier. Really... Speaking to the department of insurance in my State - no prohibition exists. So PetPlan needlessly worried their loyal customers about cancellations.

PetPlan also has a problem with follow-through. You can speak to one customer service representative to update your account or policy - but then never get any mailed confirmation of the account or policy changes. Even, if the changes affect coverage or premium costs.

PetPlan customer representatives claim that the updates to an insured's policy are posted on the website under the insured's account in "Important Papers".

The problem is - unless a PetPlan customer representative has checked the "Important Papers" file to make sure changes have been made (which they routinely don't) nothing may have actually been changed.

When confronted with truth, PetPlan customer service representatives become rude and abusive.

I would stay away from getting coverage with PetPlan US until the customer service issues have been addressed.
