I enrolled my dog a year ago thinking it would be a simple 'accident' protection plan. Little did I know how soon I would file a claim. She was scheduled for a routine dental cleaning that turned into a nightmare. Pre-anesthetic tests revealed heart block. Nola is only 3-years-old and I was horrified when the vet called to tell me the news. She told me that she was not able to do the cleaning until she knew more and did I give her permission for further testing to determine how bad her heart was. I immediately called PetPlan to see if it was covered, thankfully - it was. Because of PetPlan, Nola was able to get the testing and treatment she needed - and was able to have her dental after the tests revealed only first degree heart block. Without PetPlan, I don't think I could have afforded the additional tests and x-ray films. I have enjoyed telling my friends about how thankful I am for PetPlan - and I think every pet guardian should have insurance for the unthinkable. I want to note that I previously had VPI but realized that their coverage was not complete. I immediately switched to a company that reimbursed by the bill and not by pre-set standards. Instead of just 80% of VPIs ceiling, we now have 100% coinsurance after our deductible through PetPlan. Not only are their customer service reps amazingly kind and helpful, I think they have the best coverage out there.
