Not happy with deductable increase

Trupanion has been good so far but I don't like the increase and now a deductable has been added. Not sure if it will be worth continuing. Can't see how a contract that was first started can be altered to this degree. Sure does not seem fair. Have always praised your company for taking care of my pet costs at an affordable price. This policy change should only effect new customers starting with Trupanion.

Ingrid,We want to offer all pet owners the best possible coverage for their pet at a fair price. Premiums are based on the age at which you enrolled your pet, your pet's breed, geographical location, and chosen deductible and our claims experiences for this average pet of your situation.
We value customers that stay with us for the long run by keeping them at the rate for the age of pet at which it was enrolled. So if you enrolled your pet as a puppy, you would pay puppy rates for the rest of its life.
I hope that this makes sense and I encourage you to give us a call as we'd be happy to talk more about pricing and help clear things up.

I hate to hijack this thread but I am seeing a constant reference to premiums increasing. What brought me here was a blog by Embrace insurance talking about the increase in CA and FL. I asked her and maybe you can tell me, but are the proposed increases for all of Florida and all of California? How many increases has Trupanion had in California or Florida? All the comments on here concern me, where were all these increases? Is there a place that discloses all these increases? Embrace also states you will increase premiums every year? Will this be your practice?
